Teignmouth Sings Home Page

Welcome to the Teignmouth Sings website!
Who are we?
Teignmouth Sings is a community choir for people who like to sing for fun. On these pages you can find links to our forthcoming performances, details of our press coverage and information on how to join us.
The choir was formed in 2009 by David Roberts. It has been growing, not only in numbers, but also in reputation ever since.
Locally, we have become well known for our wide and ever-increasing repertoire of songs. These include songs from shows and musicals. Fiddler on the Roof, Les Mis√©rables, Mamma Mia, Sweet Charity,¬†The King and I are a few. The choir have also learnt James Bond themes, medleys from Andrew Lloyd Webber, The Beatles. We also sing favourites from Queen, Adele, Labbie Siffrey, The Hollies, Ben E King and many more….
We almost always perform as a whole choir, but occasionally our members perform solos or duets. Our music director is more than happy for members to suggest new material. We have been learning a few jazz numbers, including a beautiful arrangement of Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. This term, we have also learnt a new medley of songs from the film, ‘Oliver’.
Our Christmas repertoire is particularly enchanting. Members look forward to our Christmas events each year, not only for the mulled wine and mince pies, but because the music is a joy to perform and really gets us into the holiday spirit.
