The Pavilions: Summer Charity Concert 2022

Our Summer Charity Concert in aid of Shelterbox was a great success. This was not only our first performance for three years, due to the pandemic, it was also our first at the Pavilions.

There was an air of anticipation from choir members and audience alike. Nearly a sell out, we were determined to put on an enjoyable show for those watching.

Our set list included pieces to suit all tastes, and were a combination of newer songs alongside old favourites. Songs particularly in favour with the audience were ‘And All That Jazz’, ‘One’ and ‘Happy’. Medleys from the musicals were well received, especially ‘Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’ and ‘Les Miserables’.

In order to bring variety to the show, each section in the choir sang a piece of their choosing. The Altos revised one of their favourite section songs, ‘The Rose’, while the Sopranos performed ‘Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?’ The Tenors and Basses combined to sing ‘We Will Rock You’ and encouraged the audience and choir to participate!

All in all, the performance was much enjoyed by the audience and the choir. We raised a wonderful £1353.26 from ticket sales and a door collection for Shelterbox. We were pleased to welcome two representatives, who explained more about the charity during the evening.

Huge thanks go to our MD Lydia, accompanist Roger, and to all involved in putting on a spectacular evening’s entertainment!
